It is what lovers do. There is no dichotomy: lover or fighter? It is lover/fighter both. I fought to get her, so i fight to keep her while i’m with her. I do not understand those who fight only to get back what they have lost. You should have been fighting all along.

“You know it’s love when all you want is that person to be happy, even if you’re not part of their happiness.”
-Julia Roberts
“I don’t think things can turn out. That’s all, and I’ve accepted it. It doesn’t matter to me. It’s not pessimisim, just a sort of sadness, sort of like not having any hopes.”
-Bob Dylan

“We both thought it was cool to cross the line, and I was convinced it would be alright. Now things are strange, nothing’s the same. And really I just want my friend back.”

UNIVERSAL LIES

I am not drunk
I won't hurt you
She's just a friend
I lost your number
I will start dieting tomorrow
I need time to myself
Let's remain as friends

And if you go, should I stay?
And if I lie, which way?

If I love again and end up just the same
If I move away, will you give chase?
Will you give chase?

“You see, you can never muster the strength, to fight for me.”

“Maybe true love is a decision. You know, a decision to take a chance with somebody. To give to somebody. Without worrying whether they’ll give anything back. Or if they’re gonna hurt you, or if they really are the one. Maybe love isn’t something that happens to you. Maybe it’s something you have to choose.”
-Jacks, Love and Other Disasters

“What do I know about love? Not much- that’s the safe answer. Even when I think I have a grasp on it, something comes along to make me realize I don’t know anything at all. It’s just a concept to me. It’s the thing that all the songs are written about, the thing that makes smart people act stupidly. If I can make love a concept, it makes me a better observer. And it also leaves a place inside of me hollow. Sometimes I can actually feel it. To reach down inside that part- I wonder how it would feel, to touch a void. That nameless empty.”

Summer romances begin for all kinds of reasons, but when all is said and done, they have one thing in common. They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone.
